Clinical Research Development Ireland

Our staff helped to create four online, PhD modules for Clinical Research Development Ireland including this one, titled ‘Principles of Medicines and Medical Devices’, that was created in conjunction with NUI Galway. Each module contains over 10 hours of eLearning content that equated to 2.5 credits in it’s initial run as part of the CRDI CTRSP Programme.

This particular eLearning module integrates the approaches of engineering and life sciences, including strategies involving nanotechnology and regenerative medicine. It provides an introduction to assessing clinical need/market, selecting the optimal treatment strategy and the design factors of a medical device, and covers the translation to market. Clinical Research Development Ireland worked with Prof Abhay Pandit and Dr Manus Biggs, both of NUI Galway, to create this module with ourselves as development partners.

We managed all the shooting and editing of the content as well as setting up and managing the Moodle install in partnership with Molecular Medicine Ireland.
